1st Annual Hula Halau Ho'ike
No Ku'u Kumu - Beloved Teacher
Hālau Anuhea i ka Pōli ʻo Kawahine Ho'omanawanui presents its inaugural Hō‘ike, No Kuʻu Kumu — Beloved Teacher, a sacred evening of hula, chant, and storytelling honoring the kumu who came before us and the legacy of our kūpuna. This Hō‘ike marks a milestone for our hālau — a celebration of learning, lineage, and the sacred responsibility of carrying Hawaiian culture forward. Each performance is a tribute to the teachers who entrusted us with their knowledge, reminding us that hula lives through the guidance, discipline, and aloha they shared. From kahiko to ʻauana, every segment honors the stories, places, and people that shape our identity and connect us to our past.

Mahalo Nui Loa & Hōʻike Success
With heartfelt gratitude, we extend our deepest mahalo to all who supported our recent Hālau hōʻike on Monday, March 23, 2026. Because of your generosity, dedication, and aloha, our event was a beautiful and meaningful success.
It was an evening filled with storytelling, culture, and the sharing of hula that honored our kumu, our moʻokūʻauhau, and our hālau ʻohana. We are incredibly proud of our haumāna and grateful for the love and support from our community that made this experience so special.
Mahalo to all of our donors, sponsors, volunteers, ʻohana, and guests—your support helped bring this vision to life and allowed us to create a truly memorable hōʻike.
We are pleased to share the full recording of our hōʻike below. We invite you to watch, enjoy, and relive the special moments with us.
